What is a Monitoring Interval in UptimeRobot?

Discover what monitoring interval means in UptimeRobot and how it affects your website, server, or API uptime checks.

The monitoring interval refers to the frequency at which UptimeRobot sends requests to your monitors. It’s a measure of how often your website, server, or application’s availability and performance are checked. The interval varies depending on the plan you’ve subscribed to:

  • Free Plan: Monitoring occurs every 5 minutes.

  • Solo Plan: Monitoring takes place every 1 minute.

  • Team Plan: Monitoring happens every 1 minute.

  • Scale Plan: Monitoring is conducted every 30 seconds.

By tailoring the monitoring interval, UptimeRobot allows users to choose a plan that best fits their needs, ensuring optimal performance and timely detection of any potential issues.

Monitoring interval during extended downtime: The intervals above apply while a monitor is up. If a monitor stays down for an extended period, UptimeRobot gradually spaces out the re-checks, so a long-down monitor is re-checked less frequently than its configured interval. Recovery is detected on the next scheduled check, so there can be a delay between your service coming back up and the monitor reflecting it. If your service is already back online, pausing and resuming the monitor triggers a fresh check right away.
