Announcements on UptimeRobot’s Status Page portray essential information for your users. Navigate to the Status pages section on the main dashboard, then click the Add Update button for the status page for which you want to post an announcement.
Different types of announcements have been provisioned for varying needs:
Title: Each announcement requires a concise yet clear title.
Content: This is where you detail the information you want to convey in your announcement.
You can create three types of announcements, each distinguished by color and icon:
Issue (Red): For active problems affecting your services. Appears on your status page immediately and is added to your status page history.
Maintenance (Orange): For planned work or scheduled events. Appears on your status page immediately and is added to your status page history.
Info (Blue): For minor updates or general information. Appears on your status page immediately and is added to your status page history.
All three types behave the same once published — the type only changes the color and icon shown, not how long the post stays visible. A published announcement stays on your status page until you archive it manually or set an Auto-hide date (below); it does not move to history automatically after a fixed time, regardless of type.
Additional settings for your announcement management:
Publish at: Here, you can schedule your announcement to be made at a future time and date. Please ensure the start time is set to the future - retrospective times won’t work.
Auto-hide: This feature allows your announcement to automatically disappear from your status page at a predefined time.
Moreover, publishing an announcement is the only way your status page ever emails subscribers — monitor downtime and recovery are never emailed to subscribers automatically. The email also isn’t instant: it only goes out if it’s sent between 5 minutes and 1 hour after the announcement’s Publish at date/time, so backdating the start time by more than an hour means subscribers may never get it. See [link: subscribers article] for the full timing rules.
It’s important to check the time zone of your account as it impacts when your announcements show up on your status pages, ensuring timely communication with your users.
