Learn how to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) in UptimeRobot to add an extra layer of security to your monitoring account.

Updated over a month ago

For enhanced security, we highly recommend setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your account. It's easy to do using an OTP client such as Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or any other OTP client. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your UptimeRobot account.

  2. Click on the three dots (...) located in the lower left corner of the Dashboard. This will open the main navigation menu.

  3. Select 'Security'.

  4. Click on the 'Set up 2FA' button.

  5. You'll then see a QR code on the screen.

Step 1: Scan this QR code with your chosen OTP client.

  6. The app will generate a unique, time-based one-time password (OTP).

Step 2: Enter this verification code into the provided field.

  7. Click 'Verify'.

With 2FA enabled, you'll be asked for this OTP from your app every time you log in to UptimeRobot to provide an additional layer of security.

Remember, you have the flexibility to disable 2FA whenever needed and re-enable it as per your convenience. We always encourage you to prioritize the security of your account.
