Connect UptimeRobot to Slack, then pick the channels that should receive your alerts.
Before you start
The Slack app is available on paid plans.
Only the account owner can install the app, add or change channels, or disconnect a workspace. Other team members can see the integration but cannot change it.
Install the Slack app
In your UptimeRobot dashboard, go to Integrations and find the Slack app card.
Click Add. You will be redirected to Slack.
Slack asks you to authorize UptimeRobot and shows the permissions it needs. Choose the workspace you want at the top of the screen, then click Allow.
You will be returned to the Integrations page, and the channel picker opens automatically.
Pick the channel that should receive your alerts, then confirm.
Adjust the alert contact settings as desired: Friendly name, Custom text shown after each alert title, which notification events to receive, and the SSL expiration reminder.
Save. The channel starts receiving alerts from your next event.
That is it, now you can add this integration to any UptimeRobot monitor and receive alerts.
Which alerts you will receive
The Slack app integration receives the following UptimeRobot alerts:
Incident started and incident resolved
SSL certificate expiry
Domain name expiry
Response time degradation, start and end
Alert storm active and cleared
Each message shows the incident details and includes View Incident Details and View Monitor buttons. You can turn individual alert types on or off per channel in the alert contact settings.
Send alerts to more than one channel
You do not need to install the app again to use additional channels.
On the Slack app card, click Add channel.
Pick a channel from the list and confirm.
Each channel is its own alert contact with its own settings, so you can send incident alerts to one channel and SSL reminders to another.
Using a private channel
Private channels do not appear in the picker until UptimeRobot has been invited to them.
In Slack, open the private channel.
Type
/invite @UptimeRobotand send it.Back in UptimeRobot, refresh the channel picker. The channel now appears in the list.
Change a channel or its settings
On the Slack app card, each connected channel has its own row.
Change channel: opens the picker so you can point that alert contact at a different channel. Your other channels are not affected.
Click the row to edit the friendly name, custom text, notification events, or SSL reminder.
Remove: deletes that one channel. The workspace connection and your other channels stay in place.
Connection health and the email fallback
UptimeRobot checks the connection and shows its status on the Slack app card.
If a connection breaks, we email the account owner once to explain what happened, and we send that alert — and any alert that follows — to the account owner's email address until it is fixed.
What broke | What you will see | How to fix it |
A single channel (deleted, archived, or UptimeRobot was removed from it) | That channel's row is flagged; other channels keep working | Use Change channel on that row to pick a working channel |
The workspace connection (the app was uninstalled from Slack, or access was revoked) | The workspace header and every channel row are flagged | Reinstall the app to reauthorize |
Connect another Slack workspace
You can connect more than one Slack workspace to the same UptimeRobot account.
Go to Integrations and click Add -> Workspace on the Slack app card.
In Slack, use the workspace switcher at the top of the authorization screen to choose the other workspace, then click Allow.
Pick a channel in that workspace.
Each connected workspace gets its own card with its own channels, health status, and disconnect action.
Disconnect Slack
Next to the workspace name in Slack Integration card, click Disconnect and confirm. This removes UptimeRobot's access to that Slack workspace and deletes every alert channel connected through it. Other connected workspaces are unaffected.
Already using the Slack webhook integration?
Your existing Slack webhook integrations keep working exactly as they are. Installing the Slack app does not change or remove them.
If you would like to move over, install the Slack app as described above, confirm alerts are arriving in the right channels, and then delete your old Slack webhook integration from the Integrations page.
For the older method, see Slack Webhook Alerts in UptimeRobot (Legacy).
