Get alerted about downtime directly on your phone. The UptimeRobot mobile app for iOS and Android lets you check your monitors on the go and receive push notifications when something goes down or comes back up.
Push notifications are free – they don't use any SMS or voice call credits.
How to set up push notifications
1. Download the UptimeRobot app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). You can also scan the QR code shown in your dashboard.
2. Log in to the app with the same UptimeRobot account you use in the web dashboard.
3. When the app asks for permission to send notifications, tap Allow.
4. In the app settings, make sure notifications are turned on (on iOS, go to Account settings → Notifications and turn on Enable notifications).
5. Your phone is now added as a Push alert contact in your account.
6. In the web dashboard, open a monitor, go to its notification settings, and select Push for your device.
7. Use Test notification on the monitor to check that the alert arrives on your phone.
Tip: If you have many monitors, you don't need to update them one by one. Select the monitors in your monitor list and use Bulk actions to turn on Push for all of them at once. See How to Use Bulk Monitor Actions in UptimeRobot.
Note: Push notifications are sent only for monitors where Push is selected. Installing the app alone doesn't turn them on.
How many devices can I use?
Each user can have one Android device and one iOS device connected for push notifications at the same time.
If you log in on a second phone with the same operating system (for example, a new Android phone), the new device won't replace the old one automatically. See "Switching to a new phone" below.
Why is the push notification option greyed out?
You might see this in two places:
In the web dashboard, the Push option in a monitor's notification settings can't be selected. This means no mobile app is logged in with your UptimeRobot account yet, so there's no phone to send push notifications to. Install the app and log in (see the setup steps above), then refresh the dashboard.
In the mobile app, the notifications toggle can't be turned on. This usually means your phone wasn't registered for push notifications correctly.
If you've already installed the app and logged in, but the option is still greyed out, try this:
1. Make sure notifications for the UptimeRobot app are allowed in your phone's settings.
2. Delete the UptimeRobot app from your phone.
3. Download it again from the App Store or Google Play.
4. Log in with your UptimeRobot account.
5. Allow notifications when prompted and make sure notifications are turned on in the app settings.
6. Refresh the web dashboard and check whether Push is now available in the monitor's notification settings.
If the option is still greyed out, contact UptimeRobot support, and we'll check your account.
Switching to a new phone
If you get a new phone, install the app and log in on the new device. If push notifications still go to your old phone, or the old device still appears in your account, contact UptimeRobot support, and we'll remove the old device for you. You can't remove a push device from your account yourself at the moment.
Push notifications for team members
Sub-users with the Admin or Write role (Team and Scale plans) can install the app and log in with their own account. This adds a push alert contact for their own account. They can turn on Push for their own monitors, and also for the monitors in the main team account – to do that, they need to switch to the main account first and then select Push in the monitors' notification settings.
Notify-only seats can't receive push notifications. They can be notified by email, SMS, and voice call.
For more details about seat types and roles, see UptimeRobot Team Roles & Seat Types Explained.
