If you've set up the UptimeRobot mobile app but push notifications don't arrive, go through the checks below. Most issues are solved in the first few steps.
1. Check that Push is turned on for the monitor
Installing the app doesn't turn on push notifications for your monitors automatically. In the web dashboard, open the monitor, go to its notification settings, and make sure Push is selected for your device.
If you have many monitors, use Bulk actions to turn on Push for all of them at once. See How to Use Bulk Monitor Actions in UptimeRobot.
2. Send a test notification
Use Test notification on the monitor. If the test arrives on your phone, your setup works – continue with step 7 to check when alerts are sent. If the test doesn't arrive, continue with the next steps.
3. Check your phone's notification settings
Make sure notifications for the UptimeRobot app are allowed in your phone's settings.
Check that Do Not Disturb or Focus mode isn't blocking UptimeRobot notifications, or add UptimeRobot as an allowed app.
On Android, also check that all notification categories for the UptimeRobot app are turned on, battery optimization for the app is set to Unrestricted, and the option to pause or remove permissions for unused apps is turned off for UptimeRobot.
4. Check the app
Make sure you're logged in to the app with the same UptimeRobot account you use in the web dashboard.
Make sure notifications are turned on in the app settings (on iOS, go to Account settings → Notifications and turn on Enable notifications).
Update the app to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Reinstall the app
If push notifications still don't arrive, delete the UptimeRobot app from your phone, download it again, log in, and allow notifications when prompted. This registers your phone for push notifications again.
6. Check which phone is connected
Each user can have one Android device and one iOS device connected for push notifications at the same time. If you've switched to a new phone with the same operating system, push notifications may still be going to your old phone.
In that case, contact UptimeRobot support, and we'll remove the old device from your account. You can't remove a push device yourself at the moment.
7. Check when alerts are sent
UptimeRobot doesn't send an alert after a single failed check. It first verifies the downtime, and the alert is sent once the downtime is confirmed.
By default, you get one notification when the monitor goes down and one when it's back up. If you expected reminders while the monitor stayed down, set up recurring notifications – see Recurring & Postponed Notifications in UptimeRobot.
8. For team members
If you're a sub-user, the push alert contact is tied to your own account. To get push notifications for monitors in the main team account, switch to the main account and turn on Push for your device in those monitors' notification settings.
Still not working?
Contact UptimeRobot support and include:
- your phone model and operating system version (iOS or Android),
- the UptimeRobot app version,
- the name of the monitor,
- the date and time of the alert you didn't receive (including your time zone).
This helps us check the delivery much faster.
